The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (Coordinating Board) adopts repeal of Title 19, Part 1, Chapter 4, Subchapter F, §§4.131 - 4.135, Texas State Science and Engineering Fair, without changes to the proposed text as published in the January 16, 2026, issue of the Texas Register (51 TexReg 237). The rules will not be republished. This repeal removed unnecessary rules in the Texas Administrative Code that are no longer needed. Texas Education Code, §61.027, authorizes the Coordinating Board to adopt and repeal rules. The statute related to these rules has been repealed, and so the Coordinating Board has determined that the rules are no longer required. No comments were received regarding the adoption of the repeal. The repeal is adopted under Texas Education Code, Section 61.027, which provides the Coordinating Board with the authority to adopt and repeal rules. The adopted repeal affects Texas Education Code, Section 61.027. The agency certifies that legal counsel has reviewed the adoption and found it to be a valid exercise of the agency's legal authority.
