The Texas Civil Commitment Office (TCCO) adopts amendments to Title 37, Part 16, Chapter 810, Subchapter A General Provisions §810.122 concerning Definitions without changes to the proposed text as published in the April 3, 2026 issue of the Texas Register (51 TexReg 2243). The rule will not be republished. Reasoned Justification The amendment removes definitions of chemical restraints, clinical examiner, income, indigent and mechanical restraints. These definitions relate to rules that are being repealed following an agency rule review conducted pursuant to Texas Government Code §2001.039. This amendment will increase clarity and efficiency of the rules. Texas Health and Safety Code Section 841.141 provides TCCO with rulemaking authority. Summary of Comments and Responses No comments were received regarding the adoption of the amendment. Statutory Authority The amended rule is adopted under the general rulemaking authority provided in Texas Health and Safety Code Section 841.141. Cross Reference to Statutes No other statutes, articles, or codes are affected by this amendment.
