The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is announcing the availability of the latest major release of the MOtor Vehicle Emission Simulator (MOVES) model, MOVES6. MOVES6 is the latest version of the EPA's state-of-the-science modeling tool for estimating emissions from cars, trucks, buses, and motorcycles based on the latest data and regulations. MOVES6 is available for use in State Implementation Plans (SIPs) and transportation conformity analyses. This notice starts a two-year grace period before MOVES6 will be required for use in transportation conformity determinations, both in new regional emissions analyses and in new hot-spot analyses.
The agency’s own summary, as published.
