Summary

In this document, the Federal Communications Commission (Commission) proposes to revise its rules to require Commercial Mobile Radio Service providers to deliver accurate vertical location information to Public Safety Answering points consistent with a metric of plus or minus three meters for wireless 911 calls placed from indoors. The Commission seeks comment on this proposal as well as on alternatives to improve vertical location accuracy for wireless 911 calls made from multi-story buildings.

The agency’s own summary, as published.
