Summary

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to approve State Implementation Plan (SIP) submissions from the State of Utah regarding certain interstate transport requirements of the Clean Air Act (CAA or "Act"). These submissions respond to the EPA's promulgation of the 2010 nitrogen dioxide (NO<INF>2</INF>) national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS), the 2010 sulfur dioxide (SO<INF>2</INF>) NAAQS, and the 2012 fine particulate matter (PM<INF>2.5</INF>) NAAQS. The submissions address the requirement that each SIP contain adequate provisions prohibiting air emissions that will significantly contribute to nonattainment or interfere with maintenance of these NAAQS in any other state.

The agency’s own summary, as published.
