Final Rule LSA Document #24-326 DIGEST Sec. 1.1. A reference to the Bright Futures periodicity schedule means the April 2023 version as set and published by the American Academy of Pediatrics. The schedule is incorporated by reference. Sec. 2. An initial screening shall be performed by the EPSDT screening provider when referred by the office or upon the initial request of the member for EPSDT services in accordance with the Indiana EPSDT program recommended screening procedures schedule (hereafter referred to as periodicity schedule). Bright Futures periodicity schedule. The EPSDT screening provider may also follow a more recent version of the Bright Futures periodicity schedule to the extent consistent with Indiana law. A screening or any portion of a screening is not required where medical contraindications are documented. Sec. 3. (a) Periodic screenings shall be provided by the EPSDT screening provider in accordance with the office's EPSDT periodicity schedule as long as the member chooses to participate in the EPSDT program, or until the member reaches his or her twenty-first birthday. EPSDT claims shall be reimbursed as required by 42 CFR 441.56 and this rule. In accordance with 42 CFR 441.58, providers shall follow the Bright Futures periodicity schedule when providing EPSDT screenings to members.
