Under IC 4-22-2-23, notice is hereby given that on January 21, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W064, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indiana Real Estate Commission (IREC) will hold a public hearing on amending rules at 876 IAC 3 related to the real estate appraiser profession. IREC proposes to incorporate by reference the updated 2026 Real Property Appraiser Qualifications Criteria (Criteria) that becomes effective January 1, 2026. While the current rules reference the 2022 version of the Criteria, the proposed rules reference the 2026 version. The rules also remove two (2) outdated references to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice course. The purpose of this hearing is to receive comments from the public prior to consideration of adoption of these rules by IREC. All interested persons are invited and will be given reasonable opportunity to express their views concerning the proposed amendments to the rules. If IREC does not receive substantive comments during the public comment period or public hearing, the rule may be adopted with text that is the same as or does not substantially differ from the proposed rule.
