Summary

The Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) of The Appraisal Foundation recently revised its mandatory continuing education requirements. The revised Real Property Appraiser Qualifications Criteria, effective January 1, 2026, will be published in a “2026 edition” that replaces the “2022 edition.” The amendments to 876 IAC Rule 3 therefore propose to delete “2022” and add “2026” a total of nine (9) times throughout the rule. The rule also deletes an outdated reference to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice course. Delete “(c) The fifteen (15) hours of Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice course will meet the requirements under subsection (b) if the course was taken prior to January 1, 2004.” Delete “(c) The fifteen (15) hours of Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice course will meet the requirements under subsection (b) if the course was taken prior to January 1, 2004.” IX.
