No. PSC-07-26-00002-A Filing Date: 2026-09-21 Effective Date: 2026-09-21 PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE State Administrative Pro- cedureAct, NOTICE is hereby given of the following action: Rule MakingActivities Action taken: On 9/17/26, the PSC adopted an order approving, with modifications, the Joint Utilities’ (JU) proposal regarding meter socket adapters (MSAs) and directing the JU to implement a 2 year pilot program for deploying residential MSAs. Statutory authority: Public Service Law, sections 5, 65 and 66 Subject: Meter SocketAdapters. Purpose: To approve, with modifications, the JUs proposal for residential meter socket adapters. Substance of final rule: The Commission, on September 17, 2026, adopted an order approving, with modifications, the Joint Utilities (JU) (the Joint Utilities include Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation; Consolidated Edison Company of NewYork, Inc.; NewYork State Electric & Gas Corporation; Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation d/b/a National Grid; Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. and Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation) proposal regarding meter socket adapters (MSAs) and direct- ing the JU to implement a 2 year pilot program for deploying residential MSAs. The JU shall jointly develop, file, and post on the individual utili- ties’Distributed Generation websites the meter socket adapter application guidelines document, the initial testing procedure document, and the supplemental testing procedure document, within 60 days of the issuance of the order. The JU shall jointly file amended Standardized Interconnec- tion Requirements and individually file tariff amendments to incorporate into their electric tariffs the Meter SocketAdapterAgreement, as discussed in the body of the order. These tariff amendments shall be filed on not less than 30 days’notice, to become effective on January 4, 2027. The JU shall jointly file a Pilot Evaluation Report by August 30, 2029, subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the order.
