These proposed amendments would clarify and update the regulatory requirements for Permanently Moored Crafts (PMCs) in the State. Specifically, the proposed amendments would modify and clarify the inspection requirements for PMCs. Currently required to be conducted annually, the proposed amendments would instead create a staggered inspection cycle in which the various inspections would be completed across a five-year period, depending on the type of PMC. This addresses concerns raised by the regulated public about the difficulty of meeting current requirements while maintaining a safe and stable structure. The proposed amendments would also update requirements for those who provide these inspections, update referenced standards, and revise and clarify terminology. Overall, the proposed amendments provide additional clarity and direction for the regulated public.
