Summary

Under the applicable provisions of 3 Pa.C.S. §§ 4501 4513 (relating to Agricultural Commodities Marketing Act), a review referendum was held from July 6, 2026, to August 5, 2026, to determine if the producers affected by the Pennsylvania Potato Research Program (Program) wish to continue the Program for an additional 5 years. To pass, a majority of eligible producers voting had to vote in favor of the Program's continuation. An impartial Teller Committee met on August 18, 2026, to count the ballots. The following results were submitted by the Teller Committee: a total of 19 eligible votes were cast with 15 producers voting in favor of and 4 voting against the continuation of the Program. One additional ballot was invalid because the eligibility requirements were not met. Votes favoring continuation of the Program by number of producers represented 79% of eligible votes and votes against continuation of the Program represented 21% of eligible votes. A majority of the votes were cast in favor of the Program. The Program will continue for 5 years, effective immediately. RUSSELL REDDING, Secretary
