In addition, this proposed rulemaking implements 2026 Iowa Acts, Senate File 2472, division VII, by reflecting the increase in the maximum reimbursement amount from $1,000 to $1,500, beginning with claims for reimbursement for property tax paid during 2026. 1. Persons affected by the proposed rulemaking: Classes of persons that will bear the costs of the proposed rulemaking: • There are no costs associated with this proposed rulemaking. Classes of persons that will benefit from the proposed rulemaking: • Iowans applying for rent reimbursement will benefit from the clarity provided in this proposed rulemaking. In addition, some eligible Iowans will receive a higher rent reimbursement payment because of the underlying legislation. 1417
