This hybrid public meeting is being held both virtually and in-person to provide interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the proposed improvements. Those who are unable to participate virtually may attend the meeting in-person. Interested persons can visit the project website at www.nwflroads.com/projects/454908-1 and register for one viewing option (virtual or in-person). The same materials will be presented in each format. If you have any questions or issues registering, please contact Jimmy Smith, P.E., Project Manager, at (850) 372-4126, or via email at jsmith@ceteris.org. Maps, drawings, and other information is available for review online beginning at 12 p.m. (CDT), Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026, at www.nwflroads.com/projects/454908-1. Project materials may also be viewed by contacting the Project Manager at the information provided above. The intent of this project is to improve safety and traffic operations at the U.S. 29 and C.R. 196 (Barrineau Park Road) intersection. Two improvement concepts are being evaluated: Alternative #1 - A Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) configuration. Alternative #2 - A conventional traffic signal. An RCUT design eliminates left turns from C.R. 196 (Barrineau Park Road) onto U.S. 29 and through movements on C.R. 196 (Barrineau Park Road) crossing over U.S. 29. Instead, motorists must turn right from C.R. 196 (Barrineau Park Road) onto U.S. 29 and use the designated U-turn location to reach their intended destinations. No additional right of way is required. Bids for construction are scheduled to occur late 2027. FDOT representatives will be available to discuss proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments. Persons wishing to submit written comments may do so at the meeting or may contact the Project Manager using the information provided above. The deadline to submit official public comments related to this project is Friday, Sept. 25, 2026. Public participation is held without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status.   A copy of the agenda may be obtained by contacting: the Project Manager using the information provided above.
