Summary

The Division of Criminal Information Network (DCIN) with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is tasked with accessing North Carolina criminal history data, obtaining criminal records of certain individuals, and obtaining automobile registrations and driver’s licenses among other specified tasks. While performing these tasks as well as operating within the scope of any other authority given to them, DCIN must follow the protocols contained in the under the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy.
