Summary

Section 1812-C(a)(2) of the Tax Reform Code of 1971 (72 P.S. § 8812-C(a)(2)) (P.L. 6, No. 2), as amended by the act of July 11, 2024 (P.L. 674, No. 56) mandates that the maximum amount of certified eligible State zone tax for zones designated after July 1, 2024, be annually adjusted beginning July 1, 2025, and each July thereafter to reflect any upward change in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) for the Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington, PA-NJ-DE-MD area for the prior 12-month period. As required by section 1812-C(a)(2), the Office of the Budget has determined, based on the change in the CPI-U (PA-NJ-DE-MD) over the past 12 months as reported by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics on July 27, 2026, that the maximum amount of certified eligible State zone tax for zones designated after July 1, 2024, increased by 5.4% to $16.334 million, effective July 1, 2026. The prior maximum amount of certified eligible State zone tax for zones designated after July 1, 2024, was $15.492 million, effective July 1, 2025. ZACHARY REBER, Secretary
