This proposed rulemaking seeks to modify the coastal waters gear restrictions to align with federal regulations (50 CFR §648.80(a)(16)). This proposed rulemaking clarifies grate raised footrope trawl (GRFT) net measurements. It also removes the requirement for a Department of Marine Resources gear inspection and the need to obtain a whiting endorsement prior to participating in the fishery.
