The proposed rules implement a hearing fee to be charged to the permit applicant when an individual proceeding (hearing) is required. It is a reasonable and proportionate measure to recover ever-increasing costs directly associated with the hearing process, including mailing and substantial staff time. This change will help the Board maintain its operational efficiency and continue to provide effective and timely services to the public. The Board is taking steps to reduce some costs by implementing other changes to the hearing process. Additionally, the dam safety fee rule is being amended to correct a scrivener's error from a previous amendment.
