All proposed rule changes concern continuing professional education (CPE) requirements. 10:15-30-5(h) will require a minimum number of CPE hours in "technical" subject areas for those CPAs who hold a permit to practice public accounting. 10.15-1-2 adds a definition for "technical fields of study" and "non-technical fields of study" for CPE purposes. 10:15-32-1(a)(3) changes the acceptable subject areas of CPE to "technical" and "non-technical" per the new definitions. The amendment to 10:15-30-8(1)(E) disallows a reciprocity CPE exemption when the CPA is utilizing a CPE exemption in their home state which would not qualify in Oklahoma. Lastly, the changes to 10:15-30-8(3) simply remove the notary (sworn) requirement when submitting an affidavit to claim a CPE exemption.
