Plain-language change summary

The latest version of Bill SB 258 has added new definitions and categories related to hazardous liquids and gases, specifically emphasizing "high consequence areas." This clarifies the types of areas that pose a greater risk due to their population density or proximity to sensitive environments. By updating these definitions, the bill aims to enhance safety measures and better protect communities from potential hazards associated with gas and hazardous liquid facilities. This change is significant because it establishes clearer standards for identifying and managing risks in populated areas.
