Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to SB 294 raises the fee for a marriage license and certificate from $25 to $50. This change is significant as it directly impacts the cost for couples seeking to get married, potentially affecting their financial planning for the wedding. The increase in fees may help support county clerks in covering the costs associated with processing marriage licenses.
