The updated version of SB 93 adds a new office called the Office of Broadband Access and Expansion and defines its roles. This change is significant because it establishes a dedicated entity to oversee broadband infrastructure development and expansion, ensuring that more communities can access high-speed internet. Previously, the bill included a broader scope with a council and fund, but those elements have been removed for a more streamlined approach focused on establishing the office. Overall, this simplification emphasizes the need to improve broadband access for all New Mexicans.
