The new version of House Bill 119 clarifies that a traffic citation is considered a summons and requires that citations be submitted to the appropriate court within five days of being issued. It removes the previous provision that allowed for the administrative suspension of certain permits or licenses by the Taxation and Revenue Department. These changes matter because they streamline the process for handling traffic citations, ensuring that individuals can address their citations more efficiently and that the courts receive the necessary documentation in a timely manner.
