This bill died with 2021 Regular Session. It reached “In Committee” and never advanced before the session ended, so it can no longer move — a new version would have to be reintroduced in the current session.
This bill is no longer active — its legislative session has ended, so there is no live prognosis. It would have to be reintroduced in the current session to move again.

The recent amendment to House Bill 148 clarifies the proposed changes to unemployment compensation in New Mexico. It now specifies that the adjustments to employer contribution rates and the increase in the base wage for these contributions are temporary measures. This matters because it provides more clear guidelines on how employers will contribute to the unemployment fund, potentially aiding in the fund's stability during economic fluctuations while also ensuring that businesses are aware of the temporary nature of these changes.
