The updated version of Senate Bill 199 has made a significant change by removing the declaration of an emergency from the bill. This means that the bill will proceed without the urgency that often accompanies such declarations, which could affect the timing of its implementation. Removing the emergency clause may give lawmakers, stakeholders, and the public more time to discuss and understand the redistricting processes outlined in the bill.
