Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill SB 272 adds a requirement for school districts and charter schools to allow military families to enroll their school-age children before they actually move to the state. This change is significant because it helps ease the transition for military families, ensuring that their children can start school without delay, even if they are not physically present in New Mexico yet. By streamlining this process, the bill supports the educational needs of families who frequently relocate due to military service.
