Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Senate Memorial 12 has eliminated the mention of younger voters choosing to be independent, which was previously highlighted as a significant statistic. This matters because it reduces the emphasis on the preferences of younger voters in the discussion about implementing open primary elections. By focusing solely on the overall percentage of independent voters in New Mexico, the revised bill may seek to broaden its appeal to all voters, rather than just a specific demographic.
