Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to SB 98 establishes a clearer process for resolving complaints related to prevailing wages on public works projects and increases penalties for violations. This change is significant because it aims to ensure that workers are fairly compensated according to local wage standards, and the heightened penalties can deter employers from underpaying their employees. Overall, these updates help protect workers' rights and promote fairness in public construction contracts.
