The changes to Senate Bill 31 add provisions that allow certain school districts and state-chartered charter schools to receive grants for various purposes, including capital outlay and debt service. Previously, the bill focused solely on amending the formula for expenditures related to the administrative functions of the Public School Facilities Authority. These new grants are important because they provide additional financial support to schools, which can help improve facilities and resources for students.
