The recent amendments to Senate Bill 95 clarify the roles and responsibilities of the Radioactive Waste Consultation Task Force and address private disposal facilities' regulations. These changes enhance the framework for managing radioactive materials in New Mexico, making it clearer how the task force will operate and ensuring better oversight of waste disposal practices. This matters because it aims to improve safety and accountability in handling potentially hazardous materials in the state.
