The recent amendments to Bill SB 96 establish a new requirement for the Public Education Department to create and maintain a statewide financial reporting system for public schools. This system will allow for standardized financial comparisons across schools and education agencies. Such transparency in funding can help stakeholders better understand how resources are allocated, potentially leading to improved financial management and accountability in public education.
