Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill HB 59 changes how funding is determined for at-risk students in New Mexico public schools. The legislation now clarifies that school districts must develop a plan outlining specific services they will provide to support these students, along with a report on how the funding will be used and what outcomes are expected. This change is important because it holds districts accountable for their spending and encourages them to focus on effective strategies to improve the academic success of at-risk students.
