Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to Bill HB 64 shift the focus from requiring detailed legal pleadings in court to instead mandating that property owners provide contractors with a detailed notice about construction defects before any legal action begins. This means that contractors now have the opportunity to address issues directly before facing a lawsuit, potentially allowing for quicker resolutions and repairs. This amendment emphasizes communication and clarity between homeowners and contractors, which is important for maintaining good relationships and ensuring safety in construction projects.
