The bill HB 321 has been updated to replace the term "registration surcharge" with a "state transit fee" specifically tied to motor vehicles. Additionally, all the revenue generated from this fee will now go to a new State Transit Fund. This change is important because it ensures that funds collected are earmarked for enhancing public transportation, thereby potentially improving services and accessibility for residents in New Mexico.
