The amendments to Senate Bill 321 mainly change the timeline and remove specific sections related to school bus requirements. The bill's original requirement for school buses purchased after July 1, 2019, to have air conditioning has been altered, and the language has been updated to reflect a new implementation date of July 1, 2020. Additionally, two sections that pertained to specific details about the buses' capacity and related rules have been completely removed. These changes are important because they give schools more time to meet the new requirements and simplify the bill's provisions, which can make it easier to implement.
