The recent amendment to Bill SB 146 clarifies the definition of "threat of a school shooting" by simplifying it to mean the intention to bring a firearm to a school. Additionally, the previous broader definitions regarding what constitutes a "school" and the specific intents behind a threat have been removed. This change matters because it focuses the bill on the immediate issue of firearm threats in schools, making it clearer for enforcement and understanding of what actions are considered threatening behavior.
