Plain-language change summary

The updated version of SB 153 includes the official title "Elizabeth Whitefield End of Life Options Act," which recognizes the legislation's importance. Additionally, the definition of "terminal illness" has been clarified to specify that it must result in death within six months, rather than the more vague term "foreseeable future." The removal of the term "telemedicine" suggests a shift away from remote consultation in this specific context. These changes are significant as they provide clearer definitions and emphasize the intent behind the law, which aims to regulate medical aid in dying more precisely.
