What changed in the latest version

The revised version of the bill SB 357 now allows any member utility or transmission customer to protest a proposed generation and transmission rate change by submitting just one protest, rather than needing three or more. Additionally, the requirement for protests has been simplified, focusing only on whether the rates are unreasonable or unlawful. This change is significant because it lowers the barrier for customers to voice their concerns, potentially leading to more scrutiny of rate changes and ensuring fairness in utility pricing.
