The amendment to House Memorial 92 adds a request for the Legislative Finance Committee to conduct a financial analysis of a proposed Health Security Plan. This change highlights the ongoing challenges of rising healthcare costs, such as premiums and out-of-pocket expenses, even as the number of uninsured residents has decreased. By understanding the fiscal implications of a health security plan, lawmakers aim to explore potential solutions for providing more affordable healthcare options to New Mexico residents, which could lead to a more stable healthcare system overall.
