The recent amendments to House Bill 89 focus on providing clearer and more comprehensive health coverage for contraception in New Mexico. The bill now mandates that group health insurance plans include at least one product from each federally recognized category of contraception and ensure a variety of oral contraceptive options. This change is important because it improves access to a broader range of contraceptive methods, allowing individuals to find the option that works best for them without financial barriers.
