The latest version of Bill SM 69 includes additional lines that emphasize the importance of state parks in providing recreational and educational opportunities while also highlighting their role as economic drivers for communities in New Mexico. It calls for the State Parks Division to study state park fees. This change matters because understanding and potentially revising these fees could improve access to parks, enhance visitor experiences, and support local economies by encouraging more people to visit.
