The amendments to SB 375 clarify the purpose of the bill and emphasize local control over how the newly proposed tenancy tax can be used in certain counties. The updated text specifically defines the local option tenancy tax and its relation to the Lodgers' Tax Act, making it clear how the two tax systems interact. This change matters because it ensures that local governments have more authority to allocate funds in ways that best suit their communities, potentially leading to more tailored responses to local taxation needs.
