The latest version of SB 273 has made a change by adding a section that establishes a special registration plate for Navajo Code Talkers, complete with a fee of $10 for the plate and special decals. This new addition will help honor the contributions of Navajo Code Talkers in a meaningful way, allowing vehicles to display their heritage while also generating funds for the manufacture of these plates. This matters as it recognizes and celebrates the historical significance of the Code Talkers in New Mexico, while also providing some financial support for the program.
