Plain-language change summary

The bill SB 437 has been updated to include a new provision that establishes a separate minimum wage specifically for employed secondary school students. This change aims to provide these young workers with a wage that reflects their unique status as students, potentially allowing them to gain work experience while still balancing their education. Additionally, some sections regarding public contracts and reimbursement for contractors and subcontractors were removed, likely to simplify the bill's focus. This matter is significant as it highlights the state's commitment to supporting young workers in the labor market.
