The amended version of SB 349 now clearly outlines that out-of-state physicians can temporarily practice in New Mexico without obtaining a state license when they are providing care to out-of-state sports teams during specific events. This change emphasizes that these physicians must have a written agreement with the sports team and have no prior violations of New Mexico's Medical Practice Act. This adjustment could help ensure that athletes receive timely medical attention during their events, potentially improving their safety and health.
