Plain-language change summary

The changes to SB 82, titled the "Safe Harbor for Nurses Act," establish clear protections for registered nurses and licensed practical nurses. The bill now requires employers to create a process for nurses to invoke a "safe harbor" if they are asked to perform tasks they believe violate their legal duties. This is important because it helps ensure that nurses can advocate for patient safety without fear of retaliation from their employers. Overall, these amendments empower nurses to speak up about unsafe practices, ultimately improving healthcare standards.
