The updated version of Bill HB 66 introduces new requirements for health facilities that perform mammograms. It mandates that these facilities provide patients with detailed information about their breast density, specifically if they have heterogeneously dense or extremely dense tissue. This change is important because it helps patients understand their individual risk factors related to breast cancer and encourages informed conversations with their healthcare providers about their results and health.
