The revised version of Bill SM 124 adds a request for the Public Education Department to form a task force to assess the potential impacts on the Central Consolidated School District due to changes in funding. This change is significant because it directly addresses the financial challenges the district may face when property tax revenues could drop following the abandonment of the San Juan generating station. Establishing this task force aims to ensure the district has a plan to secure sufficient funding for its obligations.
