The recent changes to House Bill 56 clarify that prostitution is no longer considered a delinquent act for minors. This is significant because it aims to recognize that young individuals involved in prostitution may be victims rather than criminals and therefore should receive support and services instead of punishment. Additionally, the bill strengthens the connection between human trafficking victims and necessary services, ensuring that those in need can find help more easily.
