Plain-language change summary

The changes in Bill HB 360 primarily involve adjusting the salary threshold for retirement contributions, which is now set at $24,000. This means members earning over this amount will contribute a higher percentage of their salary to the retirement fund. Additionally, the bill clarifies that substitute teachers are included as members covered by the educational retirement system, ensuring they get the necessary benefits. These updates are important because they aim to strengthen the retirement system and ensure fair treatment for all educational employees.
