Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to House Bill 280 establishes that health facilities in New Mexico must grant certified nurse practitioners and certified nurse-midwives the same patient admitting and discharge privileges that physicians receive. It ensures that these professionals can serve on the medical staff and be credentialed using the same procedures as doctors. This change is important because it recognizes and empowers skilled professionals in the healthcare system, which can enhance patient care and access to services.
